A Giant Dog
A Giant Dog
A Giant Dog's music encompasses the passion, the modern survival of winged tipped shoes, seahorse androgyny, moon-rivers and bingo, and is heavily influenced by beer, The Coasters, The Stooges and Velvet Underground.
Sealion
Sealion
Sealion is a 4 piece band from Dallas TX, with surf, punk, and Indie influences. This past summer they completed multiple national tours including a run with The Toadies. In the past two years Sealion has played countless shows and shared the stage with bands such as Man or Astro-Man? The Coathangers, Cloud Nothings, Pond, The Men, Crystal Antlers, Turbo Fruits, Diarrhea Planet, White Fang, Mind Spiders, Jaill, Tim Kasher(cursive), Surf City, Bare Wires, The Zoltars, Bass Drum of Death, Japanther, Single Mothers, White Lung, Titus Andronicus, Fungi Girls and more.

Known for an anything goes live show with their tightly knit fan base in tow that will dance the night away like it is their last, it is definitely one worth checking out and is a constant mention in several online "must attend show of the week" from local media sources(Dallas Observer, DC9 at night, Central Track, D magazine, DFW.com, Ft worth Weekly, Fort Live). At any given one of these gatherings of music, friends, and alcohol you could witness anything from an intimate, calm set, to having band members on the ground or in the air playing their instruments while the crowd dives into the drums. It's an experience everyone should be a part of and once you have, you cannot wait for the next.

Sealion pulls influences from bands such as The Pixies and The Nerves along with various punk bands from the 70's-90's, 60's garage & surf and 50's pop into a sound all their own.
Son of Stan
Son of Stan
Son of Stan is the solo project and band of songwriter Jordan Richardson (Drummer for Ben Harper, Ringo Starr). The creative debut album is set for release in 2013 and was produced by Adam Lasus (Clap Your Hands Say Yeah) and shocases a unique, psychedelic style that Richardson calls "Divorce Pop".

The sound of his forthcoming album, due for release in 2013, though hard to pinpoint, range in influence from the darker side of 80's pop such as Joe Jackson, Phil Collins, R. Stevie Moore, (and even Hall and Oates) to more, even heavier, stonier psychedelic nods.

Richardson told Dallas based blog Central Track: "It's a little difficult to describe the sound of it, but there is a definite aesthetic goal in mind with the record. There are a lot of songs from my childhood in the mid 80's that when I hear now they give me a totally unsettling feeling (songs I refer to as "divorce pop", though my parents remain happily married) and remind me of the pains of being dragged around by my mom on hot Saturday afternoons in 1989, to a weird strip mall women's clothing store called 'Show Off Fashion'. I want to make songs that convey that feeling and mood. "North Texas Unsettling Childhood Memory Pop". or maybe "Divorce Pop". The song "Corsica" is definitely about that, I think. Both sonically and in subject matter... I dunno. Its weird and you can dance to it, but I hope it makes you feel a little funny.
